I got the Harmony Ultimate for my family room setup and I love it.

In my full up basement theater however I currently run a Harmony 1100. The 1100 connects to two Harmony RF Wireless extenders, one which controls all my AV equipment in a rack that is wall mounted in the hallway the other which controls the ceiling projector and rear wall Lutron Grafik Eye lighting control panel.

While I like the 1100 I would prefer the standard shape Harmony Ultimate with far faster RF control and superior touch screen. The big issue is the requirement to have two separate RF controlled IR blasters (like the hub itself) for the two rooms of electronics that power the theater. Is there any option for the Harmony Ultimate? I would have no problem getting two Harmony Hubs (can they be tethered to one remote, I believe the answer is NO) or anything else that would do the job as a wired IR blaster to a hub in the other room is not an option.

Thanks!

Thanks! The Harmony Ultimate can only be paired to one Hub, you cannot add a second Hub to the setup.  Your only Option is to add one of the  Mini Blasters, you would probably have to extend the cable as it is only 8' long if this is even possible for you.

Thanks for the reply, that is what I was afraid of. While I could in theory run a long run of cable in the ceiling and have the wire for an IR blaster come out of the wall the current installation for my 1100 is SEEMLESS with no wires. The main issue with the 1100 is the RF->IR is SLOW and I prefer to have a remote with buttons (and use my iPhone or iPad if I want a touchscreen) compared to the dull screened and slow 1100.

Hopefully Logitech can offer paired hubs of some kind in the future... for a remote that markets itself as "Ultimate" and costs $350 you would think they know that folks like me are their target market and have specific needs ... THAT WE ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR!!! :-)

That said I love my Harmony Ultimate for my family room and I think I'll pick up a Smart Control pack for our bedroom that has simpler needs. At that point my whole house will be RF controlled, no more pointing remotes!

PS: I can't believe how great the IR blaster is in the hub, I have the hub on top of a 72 inch wide tv stand with a 70 inch tv above and 7 components scattered below in open front shelves and the hub controls them all flawless with no IR blaster cables needed and NO line of site to anything other than the TV. The IR is simply bouncing off room objects.
