My 890 Pro died (would no longer communicate with the IR hubs) and rather than buy yet another one on eBay I took the plunge with the Harmony Ultimate. I must say, first impressions very positive. All of my 890 programming transferred right over! I was up and running in minutes.

In my 890 setup, I had two IR hub locations. One in the rack system in the closet and one in the viewing room, mainly so I never needed to bother pointing the remote at the TV -- which super fool proofs things for kids.

Question #1: Anyone know if the Harmony Ultimate will work with a 2nd hub? I am guessing not. I bought a "Harmony Smart Control" which comes with a hub ([Link: logitech.com] seemed a better purchase than the hub alone -- just $20 more and got another remote handheld). Said another way, can I have for example the DVR commands emitted from one Hub and the TV commands emitted from a different hub?

Question #2: So given I have the second handheld, the simple "Smart" version mentioned above, I'm wondering if I can have that handset remote communicate with the hub(s) of the Harmony Ultimate...said another way, can more than one Harmony use the same hub(s)?

Any thoughts appreciated!

Question 1, no, only one Hub per remote,

Question2, No, the Smart remote cannot communicate with the Ultimate Hub

Re Question #2, is that because the Smart Remote cannot communicate with any hub or just not the Ultimate Hub? I would presume the hubs are the same SKU...or are they different?

The Smart remote can communicate with it's own Hub.  The Hubs are all of the same, but as I said earlier, one remote either the Ultimate or Smart remote, can only be linked to one Hub at a time & a Hub can only be linked to one remote at a time.

How far does the hub blast IR? I'm trying to figure out if the Harmony Ultimate will be a good solution for me. I have a projector hanging from the ceiling about 15 feet from my equipment (where the hub would go). Will this be able to turn on/off my projector? Also, if the hub is inside the av cabinet, will it blast IR to all components in the cabinet or does it need direct line of sight? If it needs direct, it seems tough to position the hub to blast to multiple components unless I'm missing something.

Yes, that should definitely work with your projector, and yes it should control all of the devices inside of the cabinet.  My Hub is located in from of my TV, it controls 3 devices on a shelf under the TV and 2 devices on a shelf above the TV, and none of these devices have line of sight to the Hub

The Hub throws out a Wide beam and will control multible devices at the same time, the Mini Blastrs are only needed for those device the Hub is unable to reach.  Currently my Hub controls 7 devices without the Mini Blaster.
