Has anyone migrated to the Harmony platform from URC (using the CCP interface)?
I am just curious as to your feelings on how they compare. What do you liuke and dislike comparing the 2.
Thanks

I would be interested in this as well. I've been using the URC MX-700 and MX-800s since about 2003, but with some new equipment I finally got stung by not being able to upgrade the MX Editor software since 2006. I'm a bit disgusted by URCs stance towards end users who purchased their remotes before they changed their software policy.
In any case, I'm now looking at the Harmony line and would like to hear comparisons with the older URC remotes such as the MX-700 and MX-800.

I have been programming URC for several years and harmony's on occasion due to customers already having purchased a harmony. From now on, I will simply walk away and not touch the harmony. My advice is, if the customer can't program it their selves, then the harmony remote will not work for that system. As a programmer you have to find a work around for nearly every custom macro you need or custom button. It is not worth it at any level.
By the way, I recently started working with RTI remotes and believe this is my remote for the foreseeable future. It is harder initially, but it allows many options CCP just doesn't. URC seems to me to have decided that they need Total Control so, their new products in Total Control line are what you need for the future and these product are not compatible with CCP. This is the main reason I'm leaving URC.
