Hello everyone.

I have a Harmony One. I have a Patriot Memory media player. None of Harmony's factory codes worked. Learning them didn't work. Learning in Raw worked on almost all commands. There is a problem though. No matter what I do, the left button moves the cursor to the right and the down button moves it up. I have double checked and relearned several times. The settings are correct but I can't get it to go the correct direction.

Rooms lights are off when I learn. Code appears to be accepted by the remote. Original remote works fine. I tried learning it to a new command which I named myself.

Any idea how I can fix this?

Covering all your potential bases. Smart. How have you found the experience with the URC and now Procontrol compared to Harmony so far?

I will be back at the customer's house next Thurs to try out the Procontrol so I can comment then. I did a set up on the Procontrol for my own system first and it works great. I haven't really got into the URC yet. I'm really liking the Procontrol. I find the software much easier to use and it's capabilities and price seem to align well with what I perceive my clients needs to be.

So far the Procontrol is much better than the Harmony. The database of codes is extensive and includes discrete codes for items like Bell Expressview boxes which until now, I didn't know had discrete codes. It executes macros very quickly and is infinitely configurable. There are two negatives though. No aliasing (not a big deal) and the learning can be tricky. You have to get the remotes aligned just right or it will fail. It has a feature which allows you to test alignment prior to learning so that helps.

More to follow.

Well, I fixed the problem. I don't know what I did, but it worked. I tried relearning the commands, in RAW mode, a few more times and finally it worked. I think it's possible that the hex code is so close between the commands that if you press the button too long, it'll think it's a different command. I've learned codes in RAW mode before and what I thought was a short button press resulted in commands being repeated four or five times. In this case what worked was just the shortest I could do. More of a tap than a press.

So as far as Procontrol goes I never did get to use it on this guys system. I over came all of the issues the Harmony was causing and he is very happy with it. I'm keeping the Procontrol for me..... which I'm very happy about.
