Picked up my Harmony One Saturday night to turn on entertainment system for my grandson. Activities screen came up normally, tapped "Watch Direct TV" and screen on remote changed to favorite channels display as usual. Problem is, nothing came on. Used individual remotes to turn on components, no channel up or down response and no volume control. Tapped "Devices" and used indivdual commands to turn componenets off. Activities button does not respond. "Off" button does not respond either. Display screen stuck on favorite channels display. I can page through my favorite channel icons but tapping on icons gets no response. Turned off system, connected remote to computer and downloaded firmware and setup. No effect. Called Logitech today from work and support guy asked if I tried removing battery. Replied that I tried, but it wouldn't budge (swollen?). He said try to push it in. I will not be able to try that until I get home tonight. He gave me an incident number and said he would send me an email with further instructions. Any suggestions?

As a follow up just FYI, Logitech customer service has promised to send me a "one time courtesy replacement" of my out of warranty Harmony One with swollen battery. Meanwhile, I am going to attempt some sort of heroic measures to try to remove the battery in hopes of being able to purchase a new battery and see if I can get the thing to work. Anybody have a suggestion as to what I may be able to do?

My guess is by the time the new battery gets to you, so will the new remote. More importantly, The old one will be disabled from their end so it can no longer be programmed anyway. if it works you'll have 2 working remotes but the old one cannot be programmed should anything change in your setup.

i had a swollen remote also, can be got out with some needle nose pliers and a bit of effort. you're not likely to bust anything.

I bought an after market battery but it wouldn't charge in the One. just last night i had a light bulb moment. i have an 880 as well in my games room, so i changed batteries. now for whatever reasons the new battery charges in the 880 and the old 880 battery charges in the One.
