Been using my 1100 since 2010 without any problems. It fell off the coffee table (about 18") and the screen went dark. Logitech's support instructed me to install the battery while holding the power button in order to put the remote into "safe mode". It didn't change anything. The only thing illuminated is the "Activities" button. I tried touching the screen where the buttons should be without any results. The hard buttons have no effect as well.

Logitech has not offered any repair services, only their paid support service. Big Whoop. This remote did not fall very hard. There are no cracks or scuffs on the remote. If it is this fragile I am going to try another brand.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Logitech didn't offer any repair service, as they have no repair service available.

I'll bet that the ribbon cable came loose from the connector. No soldering is involved, though opening the 1100 can be a little cumbersome. I have some DIY resources posted on my web site and there is a guide that describes the procedure. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to post any pictures (yet), but you can get the idea and see if it's something you would like to tackle. At least 5 other 1100 owners have reported the exact same symptom after a minor fall and it turned out to be user-repairable by just sliding the ribbon cable back into the connector. Hope this helps!
