My 880 is going belly up so I'm thinking of ordering the 700. Using the software setup I'm limited to 6 devices - I have 7, one being my Lutron dimmer.

Question: can I teach the 700 a few commands to raise and lower the light level of my Lutron dimmer without needing to add the dimmer device? In other words, can you teach commands from another device's remote?

PS: I dont want a Harmony One. I dislike touch screens, plus I think the 700 has just about a perfect key layout for me.

Yes you can teach commands from any device to any other device. Make sure you choose appropriate command names (like use LU as a prefix in the command name). This will avoid confusion for yourself and the database police.

Thanks Jlet,

This will help me get around that 6 device limit.

Much appreciated.
