It must be part of Logitech's yearning to seem user friendly that they let you add your Nintendo Wii as a device (on my Harmony 650, at least).

It is completely pointless. The Wii does not accept IR commands.  But I guess the Logitech marketeers (or mouseketeers) get to claim yet another device supported.

But, it gets worse.  When I deleted the Wii as a device using the v7.7.0 software, I was warned that my "Play Wii" activity would take a hit.  Of course, I thought.  But, I still need that activity to get the other components to select correct inputs, etc.

After redoing the "Play Wii" activity I found that the v7.7.0 software did not want to edit any other activities.  I guess I p!$$ed it off.

If I did this again, I would start by deleting the affected activity.

I went back to using the MyHarmony on line software.  It is certainly slick, but I had to sacrifice having commands occur when entering an activity as well as some useful sequences, sigh.

Does the Wii use bluetooth?
This is the case with PS3. You need the bluetooth adapter to get the Harmony to control the PS3. I don't bother. I do have it as a device and I do have an activity set up for it, just to get all the components set up properly, then Use the remote I bought for the PS3 to watch a disc or netflix on PS3. Usually, though, the kids will be playing a game and using the game controllers, where you wouldn't want to use the Harmony anyway.

bradpuddephat, thanks for the reply.
You answered my question with a question.
And then you talked about your kids and another topic.
In trying to be informational and on-topic, I do believe the Wii uses bluetooth.  Certainly, not IR or anything a Harmony remote will readily do.

I am trying to post replies that I wish I would've found when I was new to this forum.  Let's stay on topic here.

Ha, you just essentially closed your own thread. No one will help you now. Brad was trying to help you and you snap at him like that? Good luck with your several year old toy of a remote.
