I just got started with a Harmony 650.  So far, so good.

But I miss having macros.

Can the 650 do macros?

What Harmony Model would I have to move up to get that?

Dear self,
For any other newbies looking for the answer to this question, yes you can do macros.  Logitech calls them sequences.  As of 3/19/12, you could not do them with the on line MyHarmony set up software, but you can go to Logitech and download some software that supposedly lets you do them.

Yes Self, you can download the stand alone 7.7 software and be able to do Sequences, you would have to create a new Account and program the remote over from scratch though.

I know this thread is over a year old, but I thought I'd add some new facts in case someone else gets here through a web search, like I did.

I just installed the 7.7 software, and before it let me do any programming it detected that I had the 650 connected and redirected me to the website. I'm trying to find a way around this, but I suspect that every time it auto-detects that a 650 is attached it will abort the setup and shunt me back to the MyHarmony website. That's fine for a basic user, but anyone who wants to use macros appears to be out of luck.

This stinks, because it really hamstrings the capabilities of this otherwise powerful device. Perhaps I can program my macros manually...

Any new 650 can now only be programed using MyHarmony.com
