Got a new Receiver which allows me to plug in all hdmi my devices directly to it and use one cable to send everything to my TV (sony ex720). This is great except for an issue I ran into which is - before with each hdmi device going to the TV on it's own input I could have each input setup for the best scene/mode/picture settings already for that device.

Example Dish input 1 - scene general - mode custom and customized settings under than
Blu-ray input 2 - scene movie - mode movie 2
Xbox 360 - scene game - mode game original

Now with everything going through the receiver and the receiver plugged into input 1, I no longer have the settings automatically there for whichever device is being used. What I'd like is anytime I switch an activity the Harmony also automatically switches the scene/mode to the one I want for that device. Currently to now get the correct scene/pic mode for my device I have to do the following - press Scene button, arrow up/down to the scene I want and press select, then press option button, arrow down to the picture mode, press select, and then arrow up/down to the mode subcategory I want and press select. I find this quite cumbersome and I know I'll forget to change it all the time.

So my question is how do I accomplish this? Are there discrete codes that instantly go to the correct scene mode or a way to program the Harmony to do this with sequences?

I contacted logitech support but i'm out of my 90 day period and they didn't understand the request anyways.

Use the Activity custom Start/Exit macro (sequence of commands) feature. Review the settings for the Activity (under Activity > Settings), and select "Yes, but I want to add more control of options and devices for this Activity". It will go through the setup again, just click next/save a few times until you get to the custom actions configuration page where you can add sequence(s) of command(s) to run at Activity Start (Start Action) and/or Activity Exit (Leave Action).

Thanks but the issue I see running into is:
Currently the only way I can think of to do this sequence to go from say General scene to Game Scene is the following -
command -Scene
command - direction up
command - direction up
command - direction up
command - select
(to get from game to custom just change the ups to down)
The issue is everytime I turn on the TV with that activity regardless of where it was last set for scene mode it's going to run that command regardless. Say I do play video game, it changes the scene from general game and i play a bit and power down, then later i decide to play video game it's going to go off game mode and up 3 and select that mode (I think it would be movie) and then everything is off.

I just wish there was a discrete code to select a particular Scene mode or a different option for selecting scene. Of course this doesn't even begin to take in account the picture mode under that scene.

Any suggestions?

You would also need to used the Activity Exit macro (Leave Actions) to restore the Scene mode to a know position. However, without discrete commands, I would connect each device directly to their associated TV inputs. This will avoid the need to use the long Start/Exit sequences which would be prone to go out of sync.
