Setup: Integra A\V Reciever, PS3, Cable STB, Samsung LED TV.

My question is about how the Harmony's button programming works.

Can I set it up so that the volume button controls the receiver and all other buttons control the STB or PS3 (givin I will buy the logitech PS3 adaptor).

or

Will I have to change the channel then tell the remote to switch back to the receiver programing so I can adjust the volume, then switch back to the stb programming to change the channel again...etc...

Thanks for any help you can give on this.

The Harmony remotes work with "Activities" and you can set up all the buttons you need for any device w/in each activity. For example: when you would go to your "Watch TV" activity the remote will turn on all the devices and change inputs needed to watch tv and then the buttons on the remote work so you can change volume via your receiver and change channels via your cable box or any other function for those devices in that activity.

To elaborate further: When you create an Activity, the software will automatically map the buttons (default mapping) to the appropriate participating devices. However, you can use the "Activity > Customize Buttons" to tweak the mapping. You can map any button to any command of any participating device.
