Had been using an old URC MX-700. Thought I'd try the Logitech 650, for my new, smaller system. Am I correct in that only the activities shown on the set-up menu are the only ones I can select?
I have setup "Watch TV" - this works fine. But now, I want to watch Netflix (via Panasonic Viera). The up/dn arrows are assigned to the cable box. OK, I tried creating another "Watch TV", but it wants me to assign new devices, which of course exceeds the max device limit.
Hmmm - I only have 5 devices, but this remote may not be the best for my setup.
Thoughts?
Thanks
HNick
ps Activities I want sre:
Watch TV
Watch DVD
Watch Netflix
Listen to FM
Listen/watch AppleTV (G1)

No, you can also select "Utility" under the Activity Type, then select "Generic Activity" (to Create a custom Activity). However, the Generic (Custom) activity type has limitations:
o no "Set Up Favorite Channels" option (under Activity > Settings > Set Up Favorite Channels)
o no default key mapping. You need to map the activity buttons using the Activity > Customize Buttons feature.

I recommend using the standard activity types as much as you can. You should be able to create as many "Watch TV" activities as you want. A "Watch TV activity type requires a Display device like your TV, a Tuner device like your TV or DVR, and a sound device like your TV or AVR. If there is only one device for the function (Display, Tuner, Sound), it will auto select that device. If there is more than one device that can do the function, it will ask you which device to use, like to change channels (TV or PVR), control volume (TV or PVR). If it ask you to add a device to perform a certain function, then there is something wrong. Either you selected the wrong activity type/sub-type, or one or more of your device(s) is/are not properly deemed. Make sure all your devices were entered under the proper device type. For example, if you entered your TV as a monitor instead of TV, then you TV device maybe deemed as a display only device and incapable of producing sound.

Note: If you don't like the default button mapping, you can change the mapping of any activity (regardless of type) by using the Activity > Customize Buttons feature.
