I just changed my old Harmony 880 (broken LCD) with a Harmony 700. Everything looks good but I really can't set this up correctly. Here are my components:

Panasonic G10
Direct TV PVR
Harman Kardon AVR 254

With my old Harmony 880, when I choose an activity and turn on all devices, the AVR will go to the correct input (Cable or DVD) about 50% of the time. With the 700, it never does, at all. I always have to press the HELP button to go to the correct input. If everything is already on, and just change activities (watch DVD to TV or vice versa), everything will work using the 700.

So the only problem is if I turn off the AVR while on DVD input for example, if I turn it on again to watch TV, it won't go the the TV input. By the way, I have tried the "input delay" from 500 to 2500ms and nothing works.

Any help?

Thanks!

2500 seems still quite low to me. My defualt was set to 8000 (Pioneer Elite Plasma) which i thought was too long so I lowered it to 3000. i then had the EXACT same problem as you so raised it to 5000 and problem solved - the TV needs a few seconds to "power up" before sending an input command.

otherwise just add your input command button somewhere within your activity - not ideal but an easy work around none the less.

... and the delay you need to change is the "Power On" delay. The various delays are explained in post #6 of this thread: [Link: remotecentral.com].

I've got the same problem. I have a Harmony logitech 700. My TV is a Samsung LN-52B750. When the input on the TV is on one input when I turn the TV off, the remote will not change it on power up when the activity demands it. I tried changing the power on delay on the remote to 15 secs without success, Input delay is at 1000ms and Inter Key delay is 0ms... It never worked right from the get go and now it's too late to return it What else can I tried? please Help?

I WOULD CHECK YOUR DEVICE SETTINGS AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVENT TOLD THE SOFTWARE THAT THERE IS NO INPUT BUTTON OR SOMETHING... ? DOES IT CHANGE INPUTS WHEN CHANGING ACTIVITIES? IF SO AND ITS TOO LATE TO RETURN IT THEN MY WORK AROUND WOULD BE AS I MENTIONED ABOVE AND SIMPLY ADD YOUR TV'S INPUT COMMAND SOMEWHERE IN THE ACTIVITY SO YOU CAN JUST CHANGE THE INPUT MANUALLY.

(oops sorry for yelling - lol)

i'm still a NOOB with the Harmony but i know i was able to stop the remote from turning my gear on and off when i didnt wan it to (ie:dvd player - it starts manually when i put the disk in - you get the idea) by going into the power settings and clicking the option that my original remote doesnt have a power button. it now no longer does anything with the power of the dvd unless i do it manually... so it kinda sounds like the same thing has happened with your input command options... ?

good luck man - let us know how you make out!

Also check the behaviour of the various input commands in device mode.
