Hi,

New here. I have a 16 month old Harmony One and it will not charge in cradle. I took every thing back to Best Buy and by trial and error found that their remote charges on my cradle and my remote charges on theirs. Have changed batteries and update software and firmware. It is not the AC adapter.

When my remote is on the cradle the screen is blank and does not show the battery icon showing that it is charging nor does it make the beeping sound when I put the remote in the cradle.

Has anyone else had this problem. I really like the remote but this is alot of money to pay for something that will not work longer than 16 months. Please could anyone help.

I had an original Harmony about five years ago. It developed the same problem. It was well out of warranty, so I ended up giving up. I have a 650 now and would not buy another Harmony with a charging cradle.

Hello! It sounds like you may have a 'mating' problem between your remote and the charging cradle. Since it seems that your remote will charge in a different cradle and a different H1 will charge in yours, that's the only thing I can think of. This is a very common issue with the 880/890 series but I have only seen it rarely with the H1. In the 880/890, there were some production changes that resulted in very minor mismatches between some remote casings and the cradle profile. But, these differences were enough to prevent the remote from going into its sleep/charging cycle. Logitech solved this problem by adding a magnet to the newer 880/890 cradles. You may want to try purchasing a new H1 cradle from Logitech to see if that helps. They are only $10. Or, if you like, you can visit my repair service on Ebay. I have many charging cradles and perhaps, like Cinderella, we can try mating your H1 to my cradles here until we find the one that fits! You can find my service at item 200555404044. Advice and guidance are always free!

This can be fixed with a Phillips screwdriver, a butter knife and a piece of double sided tape or even folded paper.
1 - Peel off the four pads on the bottom of the charger (you can stick them back on again).
2 - Remove the four screws
3 - Separate the top from the bottom, there are two contact points at the center that keep it from just falling apart, use a butter knife and gently pry the edges, it will come apart.
4 - Cut a small piece (1/2 inch) of double sided tape, or single sided foam tape, or anything handy that will prop up the three contacts by about 1/8th inch (the foam tape works perfect as it acts like a spring).
5 - Use the butter knife and gently insert it underneath all three contacts.
6 - Angle the butter knife up slightly and insert your cradle of choice underneath
7 - Re-assemble the remote. Remember to be gentle with the two middle contacts, it will click right in.
