My Harmony 1000 just CANNOT get the input setting right with my Philips 47" LCD.
Every time I use an activity, it will always stop 2-3 inputs short of the right one and that means reverting to the d&*@ help button..everytime.!!!!
I have adjusted the delays, reordered the settings and I have actually started to use the original remotes now as it is just too frustrating to do this all the time!
Have any of you guys experienced this with your remotes? Any workarounds?

First, make sure that the input list on the tv screen matches the input list in the harmony setup exactly - same number and same order. Then make sure the commands and methods are correct for selecting the input. Once that is correct try setting the inter-device delay to a huge number just for testing - 3000-5000 ms should work. Report back if it's still not working.

The fact that help fixes it usually points to inter-device delay being too short.

Hello akirby,
The input lists are the exact same, i have checked them many times before.
Also, the inter device and device delays are 6000!

Maybe it's missing commands due to the repeat rate being too low. Try increasing the number of repeats or do troubleshooting - device doesn't respond to some commands.

When an IR command is sent it gets repeated several times. This is knows as the repeat rate. If commands aren't being received the repeat rate may need to be increased. It used to be a stand-alone option under each device but I don't know where it is now. Look for it in Device options or under troubleshooting.

The "number of repeats" (now nameless) option is under "Device > Troubleshoot > Device responds to some commands either too many times or only occasionally".

Also try increasing both the Inter-Device and Inter-Key delays to the same value in case the "criss-crossed" and/or "added together" bug(s) is/are still present.

I have a Philips TV and am not having any problems with input selection. What model TV do you have?
There are only 2 types of people in the world....those I like, and those I don't. Remember, the only reason some people are alive is because it's illegal to shoot them.
