Hello All Wise and Knowing Readers
I have owned my Harmony 550 for about 1 yr and think its a great product. I operate my Bell satellite and Sony PS3 and have no issues at all.
I have recently attached a computer to my entertainment system, and am having difficulty getting the TV to turn onto the correct input.
How this plays out is, If I have all the components off and hit the "activites" button on the remote and select computer, the remote does not give the TV time to turn on and then change to the appropiate input. If I try the same thing with either my satellite or PS3, everythings works great. I do not understand why the remote would not use the same TV power on settings for all the inputs.
Does anyone have any advice?
If I have not been clear enough or provided enough information, I will be happy to list more data.
Mike

This is usually caused by the commands for the computer interfering with the TV commands (that's why it doesn't happen with the other activities). The TV sees the computer command (all devices "see" all IR commands but only respond to the ones that they recognize) and is trying to process it when the power on and/or input command arrive and they don't see it.
If the TV isn't turning on, increase the inter-device delay for the TV. If it's turning on but not getting the input command, try increasing the power-on delay.

Akirby,
Thank you for the quick reply. I think perhaps its my goofy Samsung TV that is the issue. I have a HL-T5689S with 3 HDMI inputs. At first, I was using HDMI 1 for the computer, and having all the issues described plus others. I switched the setup to use HDMI 3 and everything worked fine. Which is nice, but also a shame cause the TV is fresh from the repair shop where a new mainboard was installed about 5 hrs ago.
Thanks again for the reply.
Mike
