When playing a DVD the remote initially selects the correct HDMI connection for the receiver but then continues on...i.e. the display on the receiver shows the following in sequence:

HDMI 1, Stereo, TV Sat, TV Surround

If it stopped at HDMI 1 there would be no problem but it proceeds to the other items that I've listed.

Keying the HELP button resolves the problem.

Connections for each of the devices (Pio 151FD Plasma, Oppo BDP-83 DVD Player, etc) are all HDMI and all are routed through a Pio SC-07 receiver.

If this is a timing issue could you tell me which device I need to modify? If it is not timing, could you suggest an alternate resolution to the problem?

Thanks,

George

If you've left the input on the default Method 2 at Adjust Inputs you shouldn't b e getting any sequencing - the input should be set and stay there.
Try editing the long list of Input Names down to those you use, and checking the assignment to each of the appropriate Command.

The default input is/was at Method 2; I'll have a look at the input names as you suggest.

Thanks for your response.

Also check if you added any Activity Custom Actions (Activity Start/Leave Actions) under: "Activity > Settings > Review the settings for this Activity > Yes, but I want to add more control of options and devices for this Activity".

I have not customized or modified any activities or other functions on the remote and everything works fine except as described in my first message.

I have four DVD players connected to the receiver and initially, each Activity selected advances to the correct HDMI input on the receiver but then continues on as previously mentioned...

I'm going to have a look at the Pio operating instructions for the receiver again and see if I missed any details on using the HDMI connections.

Thanks for your post!

4 DVD players????? Spock - explain!

Well, I was not a serious Trekkie fan but I do remember "The Trouble With Tribbles' and the rabbit-like multiplication factor as the furry little critters populated every crevice in the Enterprise. When I bought my first DVD player I saw a fluffy white hair ball through one of the ventilation holes and sure enough, after DNA testing, it was the remains of a tribble. This critter then converted (or disguised) itself as DVD player and the rest is history; hence, four DVD players and counting...

And now the rest of the DVD story:

1. Toshiba A-2 was purchased first while the HD-DVD & BluRay war was still in progress. I will always retain this player for its HD-DVD capability.

2. Toshiba XD-E500 was purchased next (note the tribble effect) because of an extremely attractive price and claims of producing an excellent SD-DVD picture (it was pretty good).

3. Pioneer BDP-05 was my first Blu-Ray player and was acquired in a package with a Pio plasma and receiver.

4. Oppo BDP-83. The flagship of the fleet. A fantastic SD-DVD and Blu-Ray player with all of the appropriate CD/DVD audio modes; significantly superior to the others in my inventory.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Appropriate Remote History: I've also owned three Harmony products and gifted two, but I don't there was the Tribble effect was involved; I only owned one-at-a-time! In fact, you gave me some help (much appreciated) on the forum here in the past for the 880. Although Logitech's web site is good, it certainly helps to have these forums here for assistance.

End of Episode

That was my confusion - I can see the A-2 but if you have the Oppo I didn't see why you would even bother with the pioneer and the other toshiba.

I also have 3 harmony's but until I put a new hdtv in the family room I was only using one at a time. Went from a 659 (currently unused) to a 720 to a One. Now the 720 is only used for special events in the family room where we want surround sound, otherwise we just use the DirecTV remote and the TV speakers.
