Hi ALL,

My main remote is the One, but I want to use my old 880 to control my secondary TV. It has a Toshiba TV and DVD which are no problem but it also has a Scan Disk Photo Album photo viewer. When I go to add a device there is no type that seems it would have the photo viewer. I don't have any problem learning all the commands as there aren't that many, but how would I create an empty device?

Thanks,
Gerry

I would add it under "Amplifier". It's too bad it does not have a Misc Video source type/category.

You could also simply "learn" its commands to an existing device that you always use it with.

Hi ALL,

Well, I'm impressed!! I went ahead and created an "amplifier" device with an unlisted mfg. The program then asked me if I had the device's remote, which of course I had. It then wanted me to have it learn the power on/off command which went OK. Then it wanted me to learn volume up and down, but being a photo reader there is no volume control. Then it asked for input, and again that does not exist. So I canceled out of it asking for any more learned commands. Then I got ready to have it learn all the other commands when I noticed that it did have a list of commands that it showed as "analyzed." I still figured these commands would not be applicable and proceeded to start learning the commands from the remote. Then I noticed that some of the commands it had listed WERE from the photo reader's remote. Like zoom in and out.

Long story short, while it didn't have all of the commands it did have about 80% of them. And that was from analyzing ONLY the power on/off command. So while I did have to learn a few commands most of them were already there.

So, I'm pretty impressed!!!

Did it also change the device type (instead of, or in addition to "amplifier")?

Hi jlet,

No, its still listed as an "amplifier" but has the commands it was able to match up with the power on/off command.

I think that type of device shoul be added as a VCR.  Over in the Harmony forum, some time back, it was suggested to add a picture viewer as a VCR
