A nubee question
Will a harmony 1000 control RF devices such as garage door openers, plug in 120v transceiver with a wire antenna.
(I assume that these are classed as "RF applications)

If the 1000 will not control these which remote should I be looking at?

Bottom line is I installed numerous devices that use RF two button remotes; Lights, Actuators that use a car type remote and a Rite Temp thermostat.
Thanks for any advise.

The only way any RF remote will directly control another RF device from another manufacturer is if both support the Z-wave RF protocol.

Note: Although the 1000 uses Z-wave to control its RF to IR extender, Logitech has not enabled any third-party Z-Wave capabilities into the 1000.

So I need a remote with Z-wave as I also just bought a Lutron MAW603RH-WH Maestro 3-Way Duo Dimmer. and I was going to install remote control blinds.

I did not mention I also need to conrol the HT gear, PJ,Amps, Sub, Etc

So which remote should I be looking at

In fact, we should note that the 1000 was actually capable of controlling other z-wave devices for some time, however Harmony dropped support as they were incapable of properly implementing full z-wave support due to lack of resources or whatever reason. The 890 Pro can control other z-wave devices but I would suggest looking into Pronto or URC for controlling other RF devices. Hopefully the devices you bought are using the same standard or are the same manufacturer, otherwise if you just bought random wireless devices you chances of fully integrating them to one remote are slim (since not all RF devices can actually be controlled by other universal remotes).

It's illegal for one Mfg to use another Mfg RF frequency. The Z-Wave RF protocol is the only way around that.
