Using the learning command, I have programmed the preset buttons from the Denon remote (A-G), but I am having difficulty getting the numbers to work.

The numbers work as if they are in "input select mode," which means if I press "4" it changes source to "DVD" instead of just transmitting the number.

I have tried to "teach" the harmony to select "AMP" or "DTU" commands, but have not had any success in programming any of the source selection buttons. "Input" select buttons for most sources are found in the database, and work fine, but the DTU button that brings up the set of controls to use with internet radio is not listed.

My activity, " Listen to iRadio"
-Turns on receiver
-selects aux/net
-selects direct mode
-plays the last station

-pressing the "letter" category for presets works
-pressing a number at this point selects a different input.

Any suggestions on how to select "DTU" or otherwise get numbers to transmit?

Thanks for reading.

When you press AMP or DTU on the denon remote, it doesn't send any IR commands - that's why you can't learn them. It just changes the mode of the denon remote so the next time you press a button it sends the right command for that device. Sounds like you programmed the normal input selection buttons instead of the tuner preset selection.

Make sure the Denon remote is able to use the numbers to select the stations, then go immediately and learn the same numbers without touching anything else on the remote. That should work (if it's just a mode problem as i described). Make sure you label the learned commands as Tuner1, Tuner2, etc. so they don't get confused with the regular number commands.

Thanks for the reply, akirby.

The database "numbers" where selecting inputs. I switched to DTU and had the harmony 'learn' numbers. With only 8 buttons on a page, some next page arrows were involved and this may have confused the remote somehow.

I have had some erratic performance, so I think I'll program strings of letter and number buttons mapped to a single button push.

Thanks again.
