I'd like to add a few VPL-VW60 Discreet Codes to my Harmony 890, the codes are available from Sony.
How can I make this happen?

I'd like to add screen "wide mode" control and input control as well, this image shows some of the codes I'd like to add, this will give me "one button push" for screen modes instead of cycling thru them:

From Sony website:

Are you sure you don't already have those commands? Did you try all of the available commands in device mode?

Support should be able to add those codes if they're not already there. Send them an email.

There is a button on the remote that cycles thru the various screen modes:
Normal, Full, zoom, wide zoom, anamorphic zoom, but I want direct access to "Full" and "Anamorphic Zoom" to help automate my CIH Home Theatre set-up.

Plus, I have 2 HDMI inputs, while the Harmony only shows 1 in the database.
When I programmed that it cycled thru the inputs
I'd like direct access to the input discreet to again automate my set-up.

(I'm on support call now with Harmony, been transfered to "level 2" support person).

Thx.
If I was at home I'd do this via email with the remote serial # (must field in their online form), but since at work trying the old fashioned way of calling.

edit:
Success(hopefully)
I send Harmony the pdf file and asked them to input the codes for the wide mode and the input mode.

Well, here is Harmony response, hopefully not a dead end just yet.

Since the codes do exist on the Rs232c data bus side, why not on the IR data bus side?
How do I get these Infrared (IR) Hex code discreet codes for Wide screen mode and Input mode?

For now and my usage I'll just toggle among the wide modes.

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your recent inquiry about your Harmony Remote

We're sorry to hear that you are having problems importing HEX codes

The file you have send us inclide the RS-232C Hex code , which is not compatiable with the Harmony remote.

The protocol RS-232C is not one of the Infread protocol that the Harmony remote handle, it is a newer protocol with wired connection and such codes could not be implemented into the Harmony remote. If you are looking for the Hex code for the Harmony remote for your device , please look for the Infread (IR) Hex code for your device.

Please update your remote after you make any changes for them to appear on the remote. If you continue to experience any issues with this or any devices please feel free to reply to this email with a detailed description of any errors. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Check the Pronto forums for Pronto hex codes - that's what they need. They should also be available from Sony.'

But let me ask again - HAVE YOU TRIED ALL OF THE COMMANDS IN DEVICE MODE? This means selecting the TV device and trying all of the available commands to see what they do (NOT using the OEM remote).
Most of the time the codes are already there but may have a different name.

thx for feedback.
When I go home tonight I'll double-double check the commands via the device mode button and the device mapping itself, see if they are burried on a page or if I can add them.

I tried last night, there are discrete IR hex codes in the Harmony database for the 5 video input modes, they are labeled wrong in the harmony dataset, I re-mapped them, see here:

However, there are NO discrete IR Hex codes for specific Wide modes, such as "full", "zoom", "normal", Anamorphic zoom" .
I asked Sony tech support for them

I searched the pronto files and found this, but these did not seem correct in my limited knowledge.
Opened the file in notepad and saw "wide mode toggle" but not any specific aspect of those, such as "full", "zoom", "normal", Anamorphic zoom"

Harmony should invest in some remedial English courses for their representatives.

Yes, I can see they have some offshore support center doing their tech support work, but they have been responsive to my Q's so I look past that.

Here is the response from Sony.

I spent over $4k on something they made and want to control it with a few IR Hex codes and they give me their std form memo back.....

Anyone here a "authorized custom installer" that will help me (and others here) out?

Below is response from Sony.

Michael R,

Thank you for contacting Sony Support.

I'm sorry, the RS232 control codes and protocol information for your unit is only available to our authorized custom installers service network. If you are a member of this network, please contact our Sony custom installer technical support line for assistance at: (800) 299-3485.

Question : I need discrete IR Hex codes for my Front Projector VPLVW60 for the following commands:
Wide Mode:
Full, Normal, Wide Zoom, Zoom, Anamorphic Zoom
These are missing from the Harmony database.
I have your RS232c HEX dataset but not IR Hex dataset.
