Seems there is a lot of grief with these devices. I recently bought an 895 as well as a 1000. No matter what I try (solutions given on this and other forums) it just won't pair. What gives? Out of frustration, I opened the 1000 and added the extender that came with the 895. Got it first try, no problem. What gives with the 895? I would return it and just use another 1000, but I need the Z-wave ability. Why is the 1000 not Z-wave compatible? Any ideas?

the 1000 had z-wave at the beginning but was removed by logitech at a later point since they were either unable to properly implement it or simply did not have the resources ... or maybe it was just a marketing thing.

895 should work with other z-wave devices, if it's not pairing then the best thing would be to get in contact with their second level support team for help. try upgrading the firmware in safe mode, could just be a firmware problem ... or it could be some environmental issue, or even as bad as defective z-wave on the remote. if you are just using an rf extender, the remote and extender should pair automatically during the update without you doing anything else.
