Hi, My Panasonic DMR-EX78 HDD/dvd recorder takes over a minute to turn on before it will receive any commands. I have read somewhere that the maximum delay between commands on the H1 is 25 secs.
If this is correct then I will have a problem setting an activity to record/playback because I need to set the input to 'digital TV' for free to air recording, and 'A2' for recording from cable. For watching dvd's it has to be set differently again.
Will I have to set an activity ONLY to turn on the player, wait for the "interminable :-(" 60 -70 seconds, and then use another activity for each of the operations I need?
Thanks
Paul

I think you're confusing the inter-device delay (delay between sending commands) and the power-on delay (delay between sending power-on and sending input selection commands). You should be able to set the power-on delay for 60 seconds. I believe some projectors actually require up to 2 minutes.

Yes, you can set the power-on for as long as you need. I wouldn't just sit there pointing the remote though, but would have the automatic input set to "none", have the input commands on the screen, and when the recorder was ready to take it send manually whichever one was needed.
