just saw a new 880 at $79 (incl S/H) - i've googled for price comparisons and found a few similar - mostly refurbs - mostly a bit higher -

i've been a long time harmony user - starting with the old scroll wheel one then the 659 and 676. one of my 659 buttons (LCD) is dead. i use this on the kids hd tv (xbox, surround sound). my 676 is with my set up (HD, surround, Dish 722, etc)
soooo,.. the thought is rotate them around - 880 for me 676 with the kids-

i'm kind of out of the loop since getting my last remote-
how do you guys like the 880?
is it an easy transition to the 880 from the 676?
anything you don't like about it?

what'd you guys think, given the above and the price at $79?

any/ all advice comments appreciated! thanks!

That's a great price but I'd pay extra for the Harmony One - the ergonomics are SO much better.

I'd recommend the 670 for $75 at Amazon, cheaper elsewhere.

Absolutely. I don't like the buttons on the 880 - they're too close together. The 670 is just an improved version of the 659. I had a 720 and didn't like the ergonomics of those either (550 is similar). Really just depends on what you're looking for and how much you want to spend.

thanks - i appreciate your input- are these pretty easy to change over when replacing a remote? last time i did it i had to call tech support - was wondering if it's possible online without their assistance.

Yes - there is a link in the software to change the model. It keeps all of your previous devices, activities and button customizations (if possible).

Keep in mind, you can switch it over, but I believe it will wipe out your old remote configuration. If you want to keep your old remote configuration (just in case), I think you need to create a new account and basically start from scratch.

I am thinking of keeping my 676 configuration as a backup and starting from scratch when I get my H1 tomorrow. Actually, I'll program it today so that I can just charge it and update it tomorrow.

Rather that starting over, contact Harmony support and have them clone your old account. That way you don't have to start over and lose your old configurations. You can make anyy changes you might need to using the cloned account.
