Hey. My 676 has at least 3 main buttons that don't work too well anymore. For the time being, I have programmed these functions to other buttons, but it is not user friendly. I tried to take it apart to look at it, but I couldn't find the "fasteners" that need to snap out after you remove the 4 screws. Anyone know where these are on the remote? I am conemplating getting an 880, but I thought maybe I should try to clean the contacts first.

I don't know that particular model, but I had the same button problem with my 885. After removing all the screws, I just ran my thumbnail around the gap between the top and bottom shells, and the clips all popped fairly easily.
Couldn't fix the buttons though, as they were all sealed "click" units, not the open rubber pad type. The 525 apparently uses open contacts, so they can be cleaned. One day I'll take my 525 apart and fix it.
Maybe you should get a Harmony One - hopefully the buttons on that model won't suffer the same problem?

Thanks for the info. Since I had some gift money at Amazon, I ordered the Harmony One. After the $30 MIR, it will cost me $97 out of pocket.
