I use my LG T (HDMI input) and Marantz receiver (AUX1 input) to play my Xbox 360.

I've selected all of this on the Harmony and it (almost correctly) does the following :

LG TV on
Marantz Reciever on
Xbox 360 on
Change LG TV input to HDMI
Change Marantz receiver input to AUX1

The problem is the HDMI handshake which (afaik) requires the LG TV to be on the correct input and the Marantz receiver to be on the correct input BEFORE the Xbox 360 turns on. Otherwise they don't handshake and I get no picture :( Anyway to turn the Xbox on last and do this :

LG TV on
Marantz Reciever on
Change LG TV input to HDMI
Change Marantz receiver input to AUX1
Xbox 360 on

It seems the Harmonry wants to power up EVERYTHING before changing inputs :/

Try increasing the Power On delay for your TV. To check, using your original TV remote power it on then count the sec until it is ready to accept an input command. Then adjust your power on delay to match that. Each 1000 ms = 1 sec

That won't fix this problem. I'd call support and tell them exactly what you want it to do and I bet they can fix it for you. I don't think you have that much control via the user interface.

Adjusting the powe on delay will only wait the specified time before accepting the next command though, right? So whether 100ms or 1000ms - it'll still power on at the same time?

Basically I need the Xbox 360 to turn on last in this whole sequence.

Thanks!

There's a trick. First set the Power settings for the Xbox 360 device as follows:

Then review the 360 activity and set a delay & Power command at the start of the activity, and a Power command at the end of the activity. 5 seconds is quite conservative, try with a lower delay until you get it the shortest possible.

That should work since it would turn on the tv and receiver and set the inputs before running the additional commands. OF course you lose the smart state control which could be a problem if you're using the Xbox in more than 1 activity.

Yeah, you're right, the 360 will power off, then on, from one 360 activity to another.

Great thanks ... I'll give that trick a try at home!
