Hey all

How do you get the media button (which should display favorite channels) to work with an XM receiver. I can't seem to get the "set up favorite channels" option on any activity I add other than "watch TV." Is the media/favorites button strictly for TV? I get the impression that there is some sort of restriction in the harmony microcode, but I'd like to know for sure so I can stop fussing with it :)

At the moment, I've just added a big pile-o-sequences to my "listen to xm radio" activity. The sequences (16 of them) work more or less, but you can't put the snazzy little pictures on each channel like you can under the media button .... hence my questions.

My apologies if this has been asked and answered, I've not been able to turn up what I'm looking for in the FAQs, and the logitec web help offered no relief.

Thanks!

I have a harmony 880 in charge of an onkyo receiver and a samsung nexus 50 XM tuner (as well as a s3 tivo, and panasonic tv, and a completely lame dvd player).

Yeah, it's strictly for TV. You need to set it up as a TV tuner activity, such as Watch TV. Then you can add favorite channels. Just rename the activity to whatever you wish after you're done.

Thanks bomberjim! I felt like I was beating my head against the wall for a while there.

Regarding your suggestion: Are you saying that I can add a "watch tv" activity, but then circumvent the use of the tivo/tv tuner and substitute the samsung nexus 50 as the tuner? In your experience, did this approach allow you to have a real "watch tv" activity with favorites associated with it?

Thanks again!

You can have as many "Watch TV" activities as you want. Just populate each one with ONLY the devices you want. E.G. your XM tuner may be the only device in one of your "Watch TV" activities.
Each Watch TV activity can have it's own favorites.

That's right about only WatchTV Activities allowing Favourite Channels, but they need a Device that selects TV channels to take them from, so I don't think an Activity will allow you to have them from that receiver!

You're right hhatkin. So far, I've been unable to make this work with the xm receiver as the tuner.

It seems like adding favorite channels to other tuning devices would be a piece of cake for the coders at logitech :)

For the moment though, I'll have to just stick with the sequences I added to my "listen to XM raido" activity. I just won't have the cool channel icons :(

Thanks to all for the replies!
