Hi all, I have a Harmony 880 I just got and had a few questions below if anyone can help me. My setup is a Sony A/V Receiver, Sony HD 53" TV, Samsung DVR Recorder/Player and finally my cable box, an SA-8300HD on charter

1) The "MEDIA" button doesnt work when Im in "watch TV" mode or when I try "PVR device" mode It wont work. I want to make the media button map to the LIST button on my DVR so it brings up my "media" or recordings on my DVR. I've tried looking for this button but it's not on the programmable list...Why and how can I get this mapped to that LIST function?

2) My Tilt sensor seems to be dead, I've tried taking the battery out, turn it off and then on in the programming software and still no luck. Any other tips? I've shaken the heck outta the remote to see if I can get it working

3) Background images....Any way to have a different background image per "device"?

4) Sometimes, when I leave my apt I just turn off the TV manually on the way out , this way the dogs have some music to listen to and Im not burning my bulbs on the projection TV and wasting energy. I them come home and plop my ass onthe couch with a beer, I want to hit the POWER button on the remote, but then it turns OFF the Cable box and Receiver, and only the TV comes on. Any tips here on what I can do, or do I need to just make a "turn on TV only" activity?

5) Also, is there a timer activity where I can tell it to turn on my system every AM at 6:30?

Thanks, I'm not sure Im totally sold on this remote, seems powerful and the programming and software seem easy, but ergonomically its kinda poor, the SA 8300 remote was easier to use for entering direct #'s to switch channels, with the harmony I actually have to reposition the remote in my hand....

thanks for any help you can provide.....

1 - try all the commands in device mode - it may be there just under a different name. If it's really not there you can teach it to the 880 from the OEM remote.

2 - same problem with a 720. Probably dead in the water.

3 - I don't think so.

4 - either turn the tv back on manually or hit the help button to turn it back on. It would be better to have a different activity without the TV - that way choosing it will turn off the TV but leave everything else on and you won't be out of sync with the smart state logic.

5 - nope.

The Harmony ONE seems to be much easier to use.

1- The Media button is not customisable, it's used for TV favourite channels and (this is cool and sadly lost in the One) to show a list of discs in a jukebox player. You can look for a title in alphabetical order and play it.

2- My 885 was the same, definitely much improved in the One.

3, 4 and 5 - See akirby's answers.

The One destroys the 880/885 ergonomically,

Sorry - I didn't realize the OP was talking about the dedicated Media button on the remote. Amorenod is correct - that one can't be customized because it has a built-in function within the harmony software. I've never used the Media button so I tend to forget about it.
