I have a Onkyo TX-SR606 and Philips DVP-3962 neither will respond to the IR extender on the 890 harmony. Do you have any ideas?

Will your Onkyo receiver and your Philips DVD respond when they are mapped to the remote control? It could be that you have not mapped the devices to the IR Extender in the Harmony Client Software. To map devices to the IR Extender.
1) Launch the Harmony Software and login to your account 2) Click the 'Devices' tab. 3) Click the 'Control With...' button 4) Click the drop down under the Control With column and select the Extender 5) Click 'Next' to save your changes

Unfortunately, they are all set to control with the wireless extender.

Turned off the extender and the receiver works fine. When I turned back on the receiver, it will power on or off after I use help on the remote and try it several times. I really would like to get this to work with RF. Any ideas?

Hmmm, first I would try re-installing the firmware on the extender. Click the 'Downloads' button on your home page to find the firmware. Once the firmware update is complete, ensure your devices are mapped to the extender and update your remote and extender. Before you update, ensure you don't have your devices mapped to a specific IR port on the extender. Have everything set to 'All'.
Ensure the extender is plugged into an AC outlet and the middle light (the power light) is illuminated. Try using both the IR leads and the IR blaster on the extender that will control the device by placing the extender within line of sight of the device.
If this doesn't work.....try calling tech support. Could be a bad extender.
