To play a movie, all goes well but then BD player has to decide on the menu, I have to push on the remote after I chose movie video from the home menu, then push play,
2 extra steps, has anyone encountered this problem , and found a solution.

I don't think anyone understands your problem. Please explain in more detail.

Okay, sorry for the confusion, let me try again, I have my Harmony remote set up for movies and when I press movies on the remote, my receiver turns on to dVd movies input, my TV goes on the DVD input and my new Blu-ray sony player turns on but it stop on the home menu page.

I have to go back to my remote, then choose movie from the Home menu list and push play on my remote to watch movies. I hope my explanation is better this time.

Is there a way so that I don't have to pick up my remote again and choose movie from the menu and push play, two extra steps.

Actually, I am getting my Sony 46 XBR4 this friday, so I will have to re-program my remote again, But getting the movie part right , will help me in this process.

TIA.

Still need more clarification - when you say you have to choose Movie from the Home menu are you talking about selecting the Blu-Ray Device or selecting the Watch a Movie Activity?

If you're just talking about needing to send extra commands to the Blu-Ray player to get it to start playing you can add those the start of the Watch Movie activity. When you do the activity setup select the option "Yes, but I want to add more control....." and you can add the commands you need there.

If commands are being sent but not recognized by the Blu-Ray player or any other device try increasing the inter-device delay.

If it's something else please let us know.

Actually, i follow your suggestions , I did the movie activity adding more control to the dvd player and when it goes to home menu , I added select and when it goes to movies , I added select and it plays most of the time.

As I write this, the guys are setting up my new Sony 46 XBR4, so I will have to re-program my remote for the new Tv. Hopefully, I will be able to do all the steps.
