Hey Guys,
Its me again with more questions, thanks in advance for all your help, I just got my Harmony 880, was wondering, should I use the software that came with it? or should I just go online and use the online one? Thanks

Use the local software. The website may or may not work correctly - I don't think it's even officially supported anymore.

akirby,

When did this change? I have not updated my remote in a couple of months. But I just added a PS3 using the web software. And it seemed to work fine. It even had the IR4PS3 and other PS3 remotes.

I have never used the local software. Besided the web software, I would think, would be updated more than the hard copy. But you are more familiar with it then me.

The ordinary web site is NOT supported - hasn't been for quite some time.

I used the web site to make some changes while at work yesterday, went home and loaded the changes to my remote using the local software. Everything worked out fine.

It's there but it's no longer supported so some things may no longer work. They update the user based software quite frequently - sometimes too frequently when things break.

The functionality is all on the server anyway - the local software is just a GUI instead of a web browser.

I bought my 676 a long time ago. Where do you obtain this "local user software": and do you no longer need to log in. If so, how do you keep your rooms ie I have 2 remotes one for each room) separate? Thanks

You still need your User Name and password for each remote to update them. You can go here for the Software.
