Giving it away to my Daughter after struggling with it after about 10 editing sessions. It is not as user friendly as my Sony Programable remote which I got for $20 off Ebay. The Harmony has a great feature where it can go to the internet and copy all the codes from your original remote. But I am finding that I have to press a lot more buttons to get things done with the Harmony accessing the TV, Cable Box, and DVD/Surround Sound System. It looks great but for me it's too small and slippery with tiny buttons.

If you set up your activities correctly, you'll be able to simply press the "Watch TV" button on the remote and the remote will turn on your TV, cable box and your surround sound as well as set the correct inputs for each device. In addition, the buttons on the remote will be mapped accordingly when you enter the activity.

Multiple button presses are not required to turn on your devices. My guess is that activities were not setup correctly.

You're using device mode and not using activity mode. When you setup your activities properly and press "Watch TV" as Birdman suggested, it will set everything up for you. At that point you're in the Watch TV activity and the buttons (both hard buttons and the LCD buttons) can be customized so that any button can control any device. e.g. The channel up/down, number and menu buttons control the cable box, the volume controls the A/V receiver and the LCD has buttons for TV picture control, etc.

Once you customize the activity buttons you should never have to leave activity mode for normal viewing.
