I have no problem programming the remote at my home, but when I go to my parents home and attempt to update the remote on their PC (running XP) the hardware is recognized but the harmony driver listed out on the device manager has the big yellow question mark. I understand it should show up under "human interface defice", but it does not.
I called Harmony and after a 20 minute wait was told to re-load the software from the website and try a different USB port.
Tried it - no luck.
As I live 40 miles from my parent, I do not want to take the remote and RF extended back and forth everytime I have to re-program.
Anyone else had this issue? Their computer appears to be working fine in every noticeable way. Thanks!

Try connecting the remote to a USB driver located at the Back of the PC, not the front. If that doesn't work, try putting the remote into safe-mode then connecting it to the PC.

To put the remote into safe-mode:

-Remove the Battery
-While holding the off button, re-insert the battery and continue to hold the off button until the remote boots into safe-mode
-Connect the remote to the PC
-Try again

Hope that helps
