I am thinking about buying the Harmony One, but one question I have is, sometimes I want to watch TV without my home theatre system and other times I will use it. Can the remote be programmed so as to know when or when not to turn on the home theatre system. Also if anyone has any neat tips or tricks that can be used for the remote, please reply. Thanks.

Of course! You just set up different activities - one that uses the TV for sound and another that uses the A/V receiver. The trick is being able to shut off the TV sound if that's an issue. You can add commands to the entry and exit of each activity so it can be done but it gets tricky if there isn't a simple command.

An alternative is to simply use the A/V receiver all the time - you get better sound and don't have to worry about flipping the TV sound off and on. Remember, you don't have to turn the sound up.

I only setup one activity for TV viewing. We normally don't use the A/V receiver for 'regular TV' viewing. If I decide to use the A/V Receiver, I progammed my device
section for the Receiver to have on/off and the input select needed for TV input and
off we go. But I have been thinking , lately, of doing akirby's idea...why not use the A/V all time, better sound all the time !! :)
