I'm a Dish Network customer and enjoy listening to the Sirius Satellite music channels that comes with my package. I've created an activity on my 550 that turns on my stereo receiver and my dish network receiver. Occasionally I need to turn on the TV to verify channel or whatever. I want to add a TV power toggle to my soft buttons but the only way I know how to do this is to add the TV as a device to the activity. By default, the activity turns the TV on and then I send a command to turn it off. I don't need to keep cycling the TV on and off every time I want to listen to the music. How can I have access to the TV Power button without having it power on as part of the activity?

Any ideas?

Set up a second version of the TV, this time with power set to "none"; use this version in the Activity.
Or, use the method that's usually frowned on, access the TV from Devices.

I'm assuming I'll still be able to power the TV on when I need to correct?

Yes, as you use the first TV version for its Activities, or you leave the TV in the right state in the second method.

I'm looking at the device settings and don't see where to set the power to "none". Is this done in device setup or activities? Because once you add a device to an activity, it automatically wants to turn it on. No option to "NOT" turn it on.

Thanks.

Devices>TV>Settings>Adjust Power Settings and keep clicking until you get to Which command turns your devices on or off?
"None" is at the top of the dropdown list of options.

Or you can just learn the TV power command from the TV remote on one of the existing devices - then you can map it to the activity button without adding another device.

Thanks! I'll give the first method a try and see how that works. Won't be able to do that until this evening. If I have problems, I'll try the other option.
