I went to a local BB and found the layout and buttons more comfortable with Harmony One than the 880 or 550. I promised my wife I would using my mileage reimbusement check(s)to but this new gadget. Looks like i need to drive all day somewhere fast :).

I do not own the "One", but do have experience with touch
screens. I don't care who makes it... A touch screen
should never be used in an environment were falls of any
kind are likely. How can a screen designed to respond
to a finger press handle a fall of a few feet.

Although the One's touchscreen is very enticing to comsumers,
IMHO I think other options should be put ahead on the
list.

Best of Luck...!

The One's touch screen is not pressure sensitive. It is like the iPhone's screen and responds to the electrical field and capacitance changes caused by your skin. This initially drove my wife nuts until I noticed she was trying to push the buttons with her fingernail. (she used to have to use her fingernail on the Pronto which this replaced) This has its advantages, in that the only thing that can press the buttons is your finger and it only requires a light touch. It also allows them to use a seamless piece of polycarbonate (or whatever it is) across the whole area, with the lcd screen safely protected behind it. I'm not saying it isn't impossible to crack the LCD if you drop the remote hard enough, but the touch capabilities are not part of the LCD. Even the LED's to the side and below the LCD display are touch sensitive. My wife has already spilled an AppleTini on this remote and it works fine. The AppleTini is what killed the Pronto.

Thanks for adding that. Great info to know.
