Wow! The latest harmony software has certainly improved since the last time I needed to change anything - it is almost useful now :-), but I can't for the life of me determine how I managed to get one of my activities setup with a "I don't need to change the monitor input" option. I really want that option in a new activity I'm trying to define, but it won't give me the option to just leave the dadgum monitor alone. It insists that I have to select an input (but since there are no discrete codes for this monitor, it will always be wrong). Anyone know where to add an advanced option to just leave the monitor alone?

In Devices you should be able to set an input to a command that doesn't do anything, then specify that in the Activity.

Actually I discovered the answer after some extensive poking around: I had to start defining my new activity as a "Utility" generic activity. When I do that, it gives me more options than if I start with something like "watch DVD".

You gain the option not to set inputs but lose all the advantages of a normal Activity. Setting an input to do nothing is the usual solution.

You also get that option when a device is added (passthrough) to an activity (When you review an activity and select "Yes, but I want to add more control of options and devices for this Activity"). Note: The activity wizard won't ask you to select an input if you edit the device Adjust Inputs to have only one input (or even none).

"Even none" being the usual solution:-)
