My Hitachi TV is not recognized by the software as being able to change channels even though my LCD TV had a HDD tuner, so I have learned all the controls and tested the harmony and all tv functions work. But I still can't add an activity to watch TV as the software still thinks it can't change channels

Did you add your TV device under category "Television", sub-category "TV HDD"?. You could choose a similar model or call support. What is the model number of your Hitachi TV?

They have advised that my model TV L42X01AU is incorrectly listed for it's functions in their database. a TV HDD has an internal Hard Disc Drive. Mine has a High Definition Tuner only so I have added it as a TV only

I was instructed to learn the H525 which I have done and it works, but when I now want to add Watch TV as an activity it still asks me to add a device that can change channels

I've tried setting up Hitachi TV L42X01AU as a Device and then setting up a WatchTV Activity with only that Device, and it all sets up normally.

Ditto with my 659. Delete it and add it again. Then, try all its dataset commands in device mode. Its dataset has many commands including the 2 discrete power commands (PowerOn, PowerOff), and many discrete input commands. Teach it only missing commands.

Note 1: You TV has both an analog and digital tuner. The discrete "InputTv" command probably selects the analog tuner, and the discrete "InputDtt" command probably selects the digital tuner. Try them in device mode. If they work properly, then reconfigure its Adjust Input settings (Method 2) to add the missing digital tuner input and associated discrete command.

Note 2: If the 2 discrete power commands work properly, then reconfigure its Adjust Power settings accordingly (by selecting option "A different button for each").
