Can an 890 be programmed to control both a 5.1 and an independent multi zone off the same receiver? I have never programmed one of these. Also how hard is it to do.

Thanks.

Yes, see FAQ (ID 978) "I have a Multi-zone device, how can I control it with my remote?" (under Tip Center - More Help > FAQs for Client Software interface, or Support Center > FAQs for website interface).

Note: If the database does not have the device categorized as a multi-zone device, then add another device with Zone 2 in the name (the main device will be the main zone), and learn the Zone 2 IR commands for this zone 2 device from your original remote.

The programming interface is easy to use but a bit infantile. You will get use to it and learn how to read between its infantile lines.
