Alright, ive added a few activities and im gettin frustrated switching between them. Imma try to explain this as best as i can.
I got three activities - "Watch TV", which powers on the TV, ensures its on input 5, turns on my psyclone switcher and ensures on input 1, and turns on my cable box. - "Play XBox 360" (im sure i'll change this to watch 360 dvd movie in the future as i can turn the 360 with the controller), turns on tv and changes the input, turns on psyclone and changes input, turns on 360 - "XBox", etc etc..
the problem comes when i wanna switch from 360 to watching cable, or just switching between activities.. i press the activity and everything powers off and everything gets screwed up, then im frustrated. I cant figure out a way to make things easier...
what i want is... press the activity but nothing gets power toggled. I want the small power button at the top left to turn everything on or off as i please.. i dunno.. kinda confused now
How do you guys think i should have it setup?

Torx Hi
First remember the Power button is Power OFF only, so you may have got out of sync, the Help button should get you back on track.
If not, check each device in DEVICE mode and see if the screens contain discrete power on & off, if so, go back to the software and use them. Also check the Power Options are all set correctly.
When you've checked all that, come back if its not working.
Cheers

I want the small power button at the top left to turn everything on or off as i please. The "power button" is for turning off everything that's on, for use only when you finish a viewing session; and not at all for turning anything on. If you set up the activities answering the questions about which devices need to be included in each one, they will look after all the turning on and off that is needed during the viewing session.

Make sure each device's power options are set correctly or the activities will not work.

The "Off" button is NOT a power button, but the built-in "Off-Activity".

The "Off" button is NOT a power button, but the built-in "Off-Activity". Unfortunately some Harmony models, just have the Power Symbol and not OFF underneath, so I don't think it unreasonable to call it the power button. It's the explanation of its function that is important. Also with the need to key the Activity button for Activities but not for 'Power Off' it can also be confusing to call it just an Activity especially as, apart from the parameters for powering off or not, no other customisation is possible. Regards, Alan

I did not know that some models use the "power symbol" leading to confusion. I hope they use the "Off Power Symbol" and not the On/Off Symbol. On my 659 and 680, the button is simply labelled "Off", and is near the other 4 activity buttons. The "Off" button behaves like an activity without any device which would turn off all (unused) devices.

The 525 has no label; the One says "off". Both have a symbol on the key.
