Hi all,

I'm an experienced Harmony owner (own 3 for over 3.5 years) and more than aware of it's great functionality but also of it's limitations.

There's one particular issue that has been bugging me that I wanted to pick at your brains about.

Logitech have a vast database of IR codes, which appear to be logically assigned to the appropriate 'Hard' button (i.e. non Touchscreen / LCD buttons).

I'm trying to see if there is any formula to the way the Media button is assigned.

I know the software / website does not allow me to manually assign my own IR command to the Media button.

The issue I have is that I have a device which would really benefit from having the Media button used (it's a Silverstone HTPC). However, the Media command in the Logitech database is called 'Computer'.

I'm just wondering, if the Logitech's database command was called 'Media' would it be intelligently assigned to the Media button ?

I guess what I'm seeking is a work around to using Logitech's 2nd line support to get this resolved.

If I were to create my own command called 'Media', do you think the Web software would be able to assign the command to the Media hard button ?

I welcome your thoughts / hacks / workarounds / experiences with support!

I orginally raised this problem with their support abnout 1 year ago, but heard nothing back from them. I've lived with the LCD key mapping, but I would much prefer to actually press the Media button.

I expect those with CD or DVD Jukeboxes may have also experienced this problem.

Thanks.

I don't think the firmware allows an IR code to be assigned to the Media button - it's an internal command just like Devices, Activities, etc. So no, I'm 99% sure it won't work. At least not without a firmware change.
