I was going to check my Yamaha Receiver RX-V1400 Audio Setup settings. And I realize that my receiver remote that does not work anymore has an AMP feature that is used to begin Audio Setup. The receiver itself does not have an AMP key. So, I am stuck.

How can I put the AMP feature on my Harmony remote 676?

TIA

I assume it's just another button on the yamaha remote. If so then just go into Device mode, choose the yamaha and look through all of the commands to see if there is one labeled AMP or something like that. Even if you don't see it, try all of the commands in Device mode - sometimes it's there but labeled differently.

If there's no AMP option in the commands list, you should also be able to make your remote "learn" the code. When you're on the custom buttons screen of the harmony software, there should be a button near the bottom that says "Learn Code" or something to that effect. From that point, it should prompt you for a name for the button, tell you how to place your remotes (with my Harmony One, I point the old remote at the back of my Harmony), and when to press the buttons. Give it a few seconds and it will have learned the code, which you can then assign appropriately :)

I guess you missed the part where the OEM remote doesn't work anymore. :)

thanks for the info, unfortunately the old remote does not work.

Once i did device mode and ran thru the different buttons options, it did give me an option for set up but then to enter, you have to press the + and - buttons on the old remote and of course, it did not give me that option in the Harmony. I pressed okay and the arrow button and it did not work. So, I will keep trying different stuff.

In that case could you tell us which hospital you're working at - so we can avoid it?

(just kidding)

(maybe)
