Hi There, Here is a Solution, but first an explanation. I am sure some folks out there have had problems with pairing the Harmony 890 pro with the RF extenders. I work for a retailer in South Carolina, the last batch of 890 Pro and extenders we received did not pair up, we even returned some as faulty to our Distributor. Finally after several calls to Logitech I was fortunate enough to talk to a technician who had a solution. Step One - update the Firmware on both the remote and extender, do this via the support link on the harmony software home page. Step Two - Go to the My remote link and remove all remotes from the account, plug the 890 Pro to the usb when the new remote is requested. Then add the extender. After this don't forget to click control devices to assign them to the 890 or the extender. Step Three - Click modify - lights - pair z wave devices and plug the 890 to the usb. This will download a Pairing utility to the 890. NOW here is the crucial part, plug the extender into its power supply, press and hold the connect button until the status and RF lights flash, this may take up to 1 minute!!!! Release connect and follow the directions on the remote. Plug the remote back into the usb and follw the directions, the extender should show up as "paired". The Remote and Extender can now be updated with your profile. Hope this helps.

This worked for me with 890 Pro as well with just one small addition. When doing the firmware updates, I had to do them while in safe mode in order to correctly pair everything.
Also be sure to update the firmware, even if it says you have the latest version.
Safe mode for RF Extender - Unplug RF extender power and USB. Hold connect while you plug extender into the USB Cable. Keep holding down connect until the RF light begins to flash (up to 30 seconds or so). Let go of connect. The RF light and the Status light should now be blinking alternately.
Safe mode for Remote - Take the battery out of the remote, hold down the "Off" button while you plug the USB cable in. "Safe Mode Requested" will show up on the screen. Let go of Off button.

This is what Logitech wrote:
You are able to add up for six 890 Pro remotes to one account. Additional RF Extenders must be added in the Z-Wave network setup portion of the remote control software. Once added, the must be paired with the primary remote. This ensures the remote properly stores the pairing information. In the event the battery in the 890 Pro is removed and the remote reboots, the remote will still be able to control all the devices that are mapped to the RF Extender.
To add additional RF Extenders:
1. Click My Remote on your home page 2. Click Add. 3. Select the RF Extender 4. Click Next 5. Ensure your RF Extender is connected to your computer via the USB cable 6. Click Next 7. Once the RF Extender has been successfully added, return to your home page. 8. Click Modify Settings on your home page. 9. Click Modify under the lights column. 10. Select No when asked if you want to update your account with the changes from the remote. 11. Click Lighting Setup 12. Ensure the primary remote is connected to your computer via the USB cable. 13. Once the remote control software is finished transferring the information to the remote, unplug the remote from the USB cable. 14. Press the Activities button on the remote 15. Select System Options from the LCD of the remote 16. Select RF Network Tools 17. Select Connect to RF Extender 18. Follow the instructions on the LCD of the remote to pair the remote with the RF Extender 19. Once the remote has been paired successfully with the RF Extender, connect the remote to your computer. 20. Click Next to upload the pairing information to the remote control software
Note: Once the pairing information has been uploaded, you can then map devices to your newly added RF Extender.
