I have a Harmony 676 and was wondering if there is some way I could get it to control our computer?
For example, if I have a DVD in the drive and NERO starts, I would like a remote to function like a DVD remote etc. Also, it would be nice if it could control Windows Media Player and Itunes as well.
Is this even possible? If so, what do I need to make it happen and how do I do it?
Thanks!

Your computer needs an IR receiver, and then software to process the commands on your PC. The most common solution to this is the Windows MCE remote + receiver, and either Windows MCE or Vista Home Premium (or higher). There are also other solutions, including freeware/open source programs, but you're still going to need a CIR receiver.

While it's more for the hackish-minded, I just ordered this little toy. With the proper software, you can set your remote to control just about any application. If I remember, I'll come back here after I've got the thing put together and let y'all know how it turns out :)

I tried adding a Media Center Computer device to my remote, but it keeps asking if I used my TV to control the sound.
Do i need to add my computer monitor as a TV device ?

When it ask which device do you use to control the volume, select your Media Center PC device. If your particular Media Center PC brand/model is not deemed as a capable sound device, then ask support to deem it. I know that the Microsoft Media Center PC brand is deemed as a sound capable device.
