I have had the harmony one and everytime I have tried to update the remote I have had considerable problems getting past 3% when the website and computer are connecting and updating the remote. I have Norton internet security which I disable and I also turn off the pop up blocker and yet the problem continues. Today I have been totally unable to get past the 3% mark at all, whereas previously it has finally worked after several attempts. Any suggestions. Thanks

i am also having the same problem with my 785
usually it will pause at 3% then get to 25% then reboot then it will slowly amble to 60% shoot up to 80% then reboot and crash requiring a safe mode firmware flash then try to upload again
at one time a week or so ago it took me over 2 hours of this to eventually get it updated
this included trying it on all 3 of my pcs in all usb ports
it is getting to the stage now where i am reluctant to update any setings and am resorting to unpacking my original remotes which sort of defeats the object of having a harmony
i never had this many problems with my pronto's

well after more than a week of correspondance with logitech they have decided that as i suspected my unit is faulty
now here is the upsetting part
as i was the second user to use the remote online and even though the unit is less than 1 year old they wont give me a free replacement as thay will only cover the unit for faults with the original purchaser.
in my opinion this seems just like a cop out by logitech and anyone looking at buying a used one should think again
i have just bought a new car (new to me) and the original warranty is still valid and will still be if i sell the car on again to another person.
Ive also just sold my old tv and the remainder of the 5 year warranty has been transfered to the buyer.
logitech must know that thier units are of bad build quality you just have to look at their
own forums and i can only assume that adopting the first user only policy save them money in replacing products that are less than a year old.

DO NOT BUY A USED HARMONY REMOTE AS THE WARRANTY WILL BE VOID THE MOMENT YOU GO ON LINE WITH IT

This may not apply to anyone else, but I was having the same problem with the update stopping at 3% when I was trying to update it from my wireless laptop (I had the same problem from my connected desktop computer too). For some reason though, when I switched to my next door neighbor's wireless network it updates fine, even though I talked to my neighbor about this and they have the same internet provider and same brand router (he has no problem with me using his wireless when needed).

So if you're going thru a wireless network and have an option of trying another one, I'd definitely suggest that.

Mine seemed to be pausing ar 3% also, but I just waited and let it go and it eventually it finished updating (after about 5 minutes). Maybe the more data you have stored on your profile, the longer it takes. I have the maximum allowable pictures for a slide show and have started loading icons for Favorite Channels, and it seems to take a lot longer than the first time when I only had a few Activities (no pictures, no icons, etc.). I assume it reloads everything (pictures, etc.) every time you update the remote, whether you changed the pictures or not. I should probably resize the them to the exact screen size and maybe this will make it load quicker.
