Just received the 890 yesterday along with the RF extender, After signing on and describing my devices which was easy, The website programmed my remote, My equipment is behind a wall in my theater and was hoping this remote would work, I tried it without the extender and it worked all devices, But I had to be standing in front of them, Now do I have to have the extender in the theater and run the emitters to the components, The directions I have are pretty vague, on this part of it, And there is no way to program the PS3 to work it says because of it being bluetooth, Any help would be great, I'm having some friends over this weekend and to walk to the next room to change the channel is getting a little old. I temporary draped the emitters near the receiver and the cable box and had the extender out as far as possible and I had to have the remote pointing directly at the extender and was disappointed with the results, What am I doing wrong, Thanks again...................................................Dan

Follow the instructions for syncing the remote to the wireless extender. This allows the remote to communicate to the wireless extender via RF codes. The wireless extender must be within 6 feet of your components, so the IR emitter wires can be attached to the IR window on each component. The wireless extender converts the RF codes from the remote into IR codes that each component can interpret. Since the wireless extender is receiving RF codes, it can be positioned behind a wall if necessary, as long as the emitter wires will reach the components.

For PS3 control, buy a Nyko blu-wave IR remote or get one of the IR interfaces from schmartz: without power control: [Link: schmartz.com]with power control: [Link: schmartz.com]You still need to use the IR emitter with the extender.

Couple of suggestions for the RF.
1) Make sure the emitters are located right at the IR signal of your components. If it is not obvious and it was not with some of my equipment the manual should indicate where it is.
2) Make sure your devices are set up for RF. From the main page click on My Remote. You should see both the Harmony 890 and the Wireless Extender. If you do not see the extender it is not paired up. After that click on Control Devices. Each device that has an emitter on it should say Wireless Extender under Control with.
My equipment is in the same room but in a cabinet with a half glass and wood door. I did test it my going into another room and it worked fine. Every now and then a device does not turn on, but hitting help always solves it.
Sorry if these are obvious and do not help.
