and all the answers i needed i found on here, thanks to everyone
i have one that i couldn't find.
i have a scientific America explorer 4250hd and everything is set up fine but,the icons.
when tv mode the cable box is the used device for changing channels on the touch screen. is there a way to change the icons? whats on there now is fav,a,b,c,list.
if i cant change the icons is there a way to change what the ones there do?

UPSman,
I'm not quite sure what you are asking so I'm going to cover a few bases.
To date the only icons that can be changed on the Harmony One are the 'Favorite' channels. I assume there should be pre-designed A, B, and C color buttons for that make/model cable box, as there are for my SA 8300HD. If the A, B, and C do not appear as colored buttons onscreen in that activity then I would contact Harmony support to let them know to add them for that cable box.
If you want the Favorite channels icons to appear when you go to your TV activity instead of the remote buttons, then while in the Harmony software go your TV activity - Setup Favorite Channels, and check the box at the top of the screen "Alway display these channels on the remote when I'm...."
I hope that helps.

You can change what any button, hard or virtual, does, by going into "customise buttons".

I see what you mean now. You can add more buttons to the screen by going to the activity's 'customize buttons' then click on the 'additional buttons' tab. There you can add, subtract, and move buttons for any of the devices w/in that activity on multiple screens.

UPSman.

When you write "these are the icons I would like to adjust" I take that to mean you would like to adjust the placement or position of those buttons on that screen.

If you are unable to move the buttons around or add a sixth button to that first screen then you may have a software bug. A similar issue occurred for activities using the the XBox 360 when the One was first released. I was unable to add buttons to certain screens.

If that is the case, then I would contact Harmony support to let them know the issue.

As jlet tried to subtly point out, the activity buttons and the device buttons are totally separate. Make sure you are in the correct Activity when you customize the buttons.

I am amazed by why so many people insist in wearing their "Tunnel Vision" hat when programming an Harmony remote!!!

First thing I did was look around and check out all of the menu options to see what could be done and how. I grasped the device/activity concept immediately - probably because it's so logical and that's how I would have done it. Sometimes being a former code jockey helps.

In the software on the Activities tab under the Bob Tv Activity have you clicked on "Customise Buttons" and then on the "Additional Buttons" tab?
That's where you can do what I suggested in Posting #3.
If you then want to set favorite channels that will appear on the screen click on "Settings" under the Activity and select "set up favorite channels".
You can then set up to four pages each of six favorites.
