Hi everyone,
I just purchased a Harmony One and have a couple of questions regarding controlling the TV volume.
First, when I adjust the TV volume, the remote increases or decreases the volume by 2 levels for each single click input. Is there a way to adjust it so that a single click correspond one volume level adjustment instead?
Secondly, when I want to watch a DVD, I use a receiver and 5.1 speakers to listen to a movie. Is there a way to add turning down the volume on the TV speakers to zero in the start up sequence, since I am using my receiver to listen to the movie? Right now, I have to use the TV remote separately to turn down the volume to zero, which kind of defeats the purpose to a single universal remote.

Add a TV "mute" command to the start of the DVD Activity. If that leaves an indication on the screen all the time and you don't want that, and if you can set the TV through its menu to turn off its speakers, you can add a sequence to do so, instead of the "mute" command.

For your first problem, try decreasing the number of repeats (now nameless) under Device > Troubleshoot > xx responds to some commands either too many times or only occasionally.
For your second problem, also check all the TV commands in device mode looking for a command like "SpeakerOff", "SpeakerToggle", etc.

Thanks for the response jlet.
My first problem with the TV volume adjustment has been fixed with your suggestion.
However, I am having trouble following your second response. Is there a way of giving me a step-by-step process of fixing this like your first response?

On the remote, press Device, then TV, then scroll through all of the commands on the LCD looking for a command that sounds like it might turn the speakers off. If you find such a command add it to the activity startup and exit.

Also, if you want to see the device command mapping (which command on what key name), then check the Device > Settings > Customize Buttons for both the Standard and Additional (LCD) buttons.

If you don't find that, did you try the "mute" solution?

I have a Pioneer Elite PRO-1130HD plasma TV and scrolled through all of the commands on the LCD looking for a command that sounds like it might turn the speakers off, but unfortunately cannot find one.
Under Activities > Watch a DVD, I looked through the Settings, Troubleshoot and Custiomize Buttons and could not find a way of adding a TV "mute" command to the start of the DVD Activity.
How do I add a command (like mute) to the DVD activity?

Activity > Settings > Review the settings for this Activity > Yes, but I want to add more control of options and devices for this Activity. Then keep clicking Save/Next until you get to the Custom Actions page.

Hi jlet,
I was able to add "mute" at the end of the DVD Activity, which turned off the TV volume without leaving the mute indication on the screen.
Now I am able to use the Harmony One as my sole remote, except for controlling the PS3:( I plan on getting a stand alone blu-ray player anyway;)
Thanks for all your help! Your the best!

I'm using it now, but it doesn't control the power. Another company makes an IR interface (without the remote) with and without power control. Owners have reported that it works as advertised: [Link: schmartz.com]

The Mute wouldn't be on the LCD screen because it's already on the hard button for muting. Glad you found how to get it into the Activity start though:-)
