search here for z-wave. I purchased a couple from a company called intermatic (spelling may not be correct). Pretty straight forward and easy to install. First I bought lamp or plug connections. I also used one to control a cabinet fan I installed. Later I purchased a wall switch. Also easy to add.

I found them at Fry's

You can also check zwaveproducts.com. They give you a free one when you buy a harmony. HOWEVER they suck with customer service. It's been 5 weeks and I still don't have it. Should arrive on Thursday. They finally gave me a $50 credit.

ALso look into X10 type products at smarthome.com. This is what I use and it works great. There is a device that converts IR commands to X10 type.

He is referring to the IR543 controller which converts IR to X10 signal on the Power Line to control your X10 devices

That what I thought... Thanks for the confirmation. Based on another reccomendation, I ended up buying a Lutron IR dimmer switch. Thanks for the help!

Unless something has changed, be aware the Lutron dimmer switches require line of sight to the switch for IR control. This can be a problem if the switch is in the back of the room or on the side.

Leviton makes a more expensive version with a separate IR receiver that can be placed near the TV.

Thanks for the advice. It's a good thing the switch I was planning on using is next to my TV.
