Haven't been able to find this topic on any of the forums....so...

Am using my Harmony One with a Denon AVR-887 receiver. Want to be able to set up a form of tuner preset favorites. Denon labels the tuner presets as A1 through G8. On my Denon remote, there is no direct method to access a particular preset but I have found a set of binary codes on the Denon website for a similar AVR model (the AVR-2808CI - the CI models are geared more towards installers I believe) in a pdf Denon has posted. I found the binary codes for what I need, for A through G and for 1 through 8 (in Denon terminology "ShiftA" through "ShiftG" and "Preset1" through "Preset8").

Question is, is there any way to get these codes into the Harmony One? Can Logitech help at all here?

As a follow up, once (and if) I can get these codes into the remote, can a button be set up to accept a two digit code, e.g. 'ShiftA' then 'Preset1'? Sounds to me like a mini-macro.

Any thoughts?

They can enter pronto hex codes so I assume they could also take binary and convert it.

You can create a sequence with two commands: ShiftA then Preset1, etc. Then you use that sequence. A sequence can be 2-5 commands.

akirby - Found the sequence button in the Logitech software - thanks for the suggestion.

As for getting the discreet codes I needed, I was able to get the codes directly from the Logitech database by adding a new Device to my list (added the AVR-2808CI and the AVR-4308CI). Between these two, I was able to get what I needed along with a few other discreet codes that could come in handy. Will merge these with the codes for the AVR-887 by using my old MX-500 to learn these codes and have the H1 learn them back to the AVR-887 Device configuration. This will get everything under one Device. Have not been able to find anything in the H1 software that lets me teach a Device a code from another Device in the database except under an Activity.

Am glad that Denon uses common IR code sets across their receivers and the lower model units accept these discreet codes!

Problem now solved. Can have 'Favorites' for Radio stations too (on the Activity soft buttons though).

Rather than get everything in one device can't you just get it all into one Activity that uses all the devices? Then allocate the Activity's buttons with the functions you want from each of the devices.

It's a lot more convenient to have all the commands under one device. You save on device (the limit is 16), and you don't need to add the other dummy devices to the activities. All the commands from that single device will be available under all the activities using that device.

True, but a lot more hassle, doing all that "learning".
That wouldn't work at all on my One which simply won't "learn" anything, despite all the instructions from Logi, and despite it being a replacement for the one that I returned because IT wouldn't learn anything!

Then you must feel very bad for the very first users, since at that time, the device database was nearly empty. All entries in the database were initiated by users. That is why the database is so big and constantly updated.
